Murera Ward MCA George Kioi has criticized the area youth for the low turn out that was experienced during the youth Empowerment progarmme meeting in his ward on Wednesday.
The MCA said that they even advertised about the programme in all media platforms, and could not understand why they would miss such an important session.
The training, which started earlier this week all over the county is based on the ward to ward meetings, and the MCAs have been given the mandate to call onto the young people to attend the trainings in their respective wards.
following yesterday’s scenario in his ward, Kioi has called on the Kiambu youths on the other wards to turn out in large numbers, as the county youth and sports department has chosen this training to help them build their future not the county’s name.
“Do not miss this chance that your government has set aside for you. It is for our own good and you should use the chance to build your skills, leave out the idlers who are not willing to be helped,” said the MCA.
He added that it is so discouraging to see a group of people idling in the streets, when the government has organized fruitful events and trainings for them, yet they cannot attend.
The legislator said that he will ensure he helps the people who are willing to get better in the future and ensure they succeed instead of babying the idling, who do not know where they are heading to.
The training continues in other parts of the county.
