Muhoroni/ Koru Ward representative Willis Ogonyo said the contractors working on the Londiani-Muhoroni road had pulled down structures leading to the market, and are now moving from the site to Londiani, leaving the road un-tarmacked.

He said funds were released for the same, and wondered why it has not been constructed, yet so many structures, including houses were demolished in preparations to construct the road.

Speaking in Kisumu to the press, Ogonyo said he will not relent until that road is done, noting that the market is now in sorry state during this rainy season, and appealed to the area MP Onyango Koyoo to intervene and have the road constructed.

Ogonyo told his people that the construction of the road is directly to the national government, and the county government has no hand in it.

“This is a national government activity and we need an explanation why it has stalled,” he said.

He added that he has been accused of ‘eating’ funds for that road, noting that the funds are channeled directly to the contractor from the national government.
