Speaking to our reporter in Nakuru on Wednesday, Korir revealed that Mauche residents are worried as the 2013/2014 budget plan has not been completed despite the area’s allocation of Sh12.4 million for Early Childhood Development (ECD) learning, with only two out of six projects completed.

“Most ministries are not doing their job well. Like the road ministry, education, and health, the funds are released late and others have not released any, that is why most projects are on hold,” said Korir.

He also blamed contractors who commissioned the Likia police station-Swam road for a shoddy job, saying the road engineer in the sub-county is inefficient and they need a change.

“The contractors are doing a very shallow work and they don’t put culverts, something which causes poor drainage system in the area,” said Korir.

Korir said the work of the executives is to ensure the area projects are completed in time and insisted he will push to have projects in his ward implemented.

He further stressed that education, roads and environment ministries are the key sectors that can promote development in the area.
