Road accidents at Kinungi black spot have reduced drastically following the erection of speed bumps in the area, Naivasha East ward MCA Samuel Waithuki has disclosed.

While speaking in the area on Thursday, Waithuki lauded the government’s efforts in curbing road carnage previously experienced in the area by erecting speed bumps and putting road signs warning drivers not to drive beyond 50km/h.

He said the move has helped reduce accidents and people are at peace now.

“I am thankful to the government because they heard our cry and they erected the speed bumps from Kinungi, Kayole and Karai areas which were accidents hot spots. They have put proper signage and drivers are cautioned against exceeding 50km/,” he said.

Kinungi area has in the past claimed multiple lives following several accidents that have happened.

The area has also been listed as a black spot as every month it claims more than two lives.

Residents of the area have also thanked the government for making effort to curb the high rate of accident deaths.
