South West Kisumu Ward representative Joseph Abiola said the construction of the new building was the genesis of the wrangling at the county assembly.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu, Abiola noted that he has already engaged his people, who have outlined a number of projects they would love to be undertaken once the money is released to the wards.

He said members were right to divert the funds to spur development in the 35 wards, adding that every ward will be benefiting more than Sh8 million to carry out different development projects.

He called upon the people of Kisumu County to remain peaceful and love one another to be able to pull as a team.

The leader observed that some MCAs had plans to loot public funds, and that had already caused tension among the members.

On Tuesday, Wawidhi Ward Representative Moses Ochele named about five MCAs, him included, who sat down and awarded themselves Sh5 million each once the money for the building of the assembly was approved and paid to the contractor.
