Biashara Ward MCA Stephen Kuria has urged the county government and the State to initiate a sustainable security and transport plan by registering all motorcycle taxi operators.
Speaking to the bodaboda operators at Afraha Stadium on Tuesday during a training session, Kuria said that he would introduce in the assembly a bill that would mitigate against crime by or against bodaboda operators.
He added that many lives had been lost while many families in the area were suffering after criminal incidences involving motor cycle operators took place.
"We lose lives and property everyday while many of our families are sufferin. The government should come up with a permanent solution to this problem,'' said the MCA.
He said that the listing of the bodaboda operators would ensure that only people with no criminal records are allowed to operate.
Kuria added that advanced security management gadgets would be incorporated following the listing to monitor the conducts or whereabout of particular motorcycle operators and their machines.
The training was organised by Milestone Insurance Brokers.
