A nominated MCA in Nyamira County has raised concern over the criteria used by the national government to compensate the 2007-08 post election violence victims.
Naomi Ondieki wondered why it had taken the government over eight years to compensate the IDPs from the Kisii community.
She said none of the IDPs from Gusiiland had been compensated claiming that all other communities received help.
She termed the government's continued rhetoric of compensating them as a ridicule to the Kisii IDPs, and feared that they would never be paid unless the county government intervened.
"This is a ridicule to our people who were affected by the clashes and I fear that they will never be compensated. Some communities were paid a long time ago and what our people are being told is to wait, for how long?"posed Ondikei.
The majority leader Laban Masira, asked the county commissioner Joseph Rotich to forward the matter to the national government to solve the stalemate.
"If our people won't be included am going to lead this house to see the president so as our people also gets to settle their families," said Masira
