Police in Kakamega have launched a manhunt for an MCA after electricity material worth Sh2.5 million was recovered in his house.
The material belonging to Kenya Power was recovered at the home of MCA Titus Kwoma in Chekalini on Thursday.
The material was found after police and security officers from Kenya Power stormed the MCA's home in Lugari constituency.
Three other people said to be involved in the theft of the material are being sought by police.
By the time police stormed Mr Kwoma's home, the house where the material had been hidden was locked.
The officers however, found children who gave them keys to the house.
"He did not turn up as he had promised and police are now looking for him," said Zachary Ombati, the Kenya Power chief security officer in Western region as quoted by the Star.
Some of the items recovered include transformers and line construction material.
"So far what we have recovered is material that can be used to set up another illegal line," Ombati added.
