A youth group in Bonyamatuta ward has accused their member of county assembly of robbing them a green house.
The youths, who staged a demonstration across the ward, demanded that the MCA, Robinson Mocheche returns the free greenhouse they had earlier on received from the government.
According to a member of the group, who sought anonymity for fear of victimization, two top group officials colluded with the MCA to shortchange them, and that the officials took the equipment from the store and allegedly took to the MCA for some money.
They accused him of benefiting himself with greenhouses through such means of enticing the officials to sell to him cheaply without the group's knowledge.
"Two of our top leaders and the area MCA are the ones who have stolen our greenhouse and we want him to bring it back in three days before we stage a week long demos to demand his resignation, he has robbed us instead of supporting us," he said.
One of the accused top leaders denied the allegations but confirmed that the equipment is missing, claiming they had returned it to authorities for exchange with bee hives; a manageable project.
Meanwhile, the MCA has neither denied nor accepted the allegations when we spoke to him, saying he will meet the group and deliberate on the next course of action.
