Mwangi said that he would not stand by a move that was interested only in monitoring the work done by the MCAs in their respective wards. He said that he was chosen by the public and that only they could be the ones to monitor him.

He added that the fellow MCAs who were supporting the move by the governor to pass a supplementary budget for the same were just trying to curry favour with the governor.

Mwangi said that the governor would not help them come 2017 when the public would criticize them for having wasted their resources.

Mwangi called on fellow legislators to oppose the purchase plan by the county government as the administrators would be subjected to more power than their duty to the public should allow.

“Don’t allow anyone to direct us on how we should work as we know our work as legislators. Let’s stand united in opposing this plan,” Mwangi said.

The MCA had accompanied the Thika MP in disbursing the Bursaries to the needy students saying that they would never be part of the public fund embezzlement plan.

Mwangi has called on Thika residents to stand united in the matter which is likely to cost the county millions of shillings. He was speaking on Sunday when he attended a church service in Redeemed Gospel Church Thika town.
