Tabaka ward MCA Daniel Apepo on Monday claimed that police officers operating in Nyabigege area are criminals and they should be transferred.

“We want police officers who are serious to work and protect our people and not police officers who will steal from our people.

"Matiang’i should intervene failure to which we will force the officers to leave,” he said.

The MCA urged members of the public not to succumb to threats from the police bosses in Kisii County.

“Police bosses in Kisii County should stop threatening residents that they will be arrested for tainting the name of police officers.

"The latest incident that occurred in Nyabigege shopping center where two guards were shot dead by criminals and later police uniforms were recovered at the crime scene clearly indicates that police officers are the ones committing crime in the area,” he added.

Reached for a comment, Gucha Assistant Sub County commissioner James Wambua said police are committed to end crime in the area. Wambua urged residents to report criminals to police to ease arrest.
