Dairy farmers in Tarakwa ward of Uasin county are set to receive a major boost following a promise from their Ward representative Patrick Bundotich.
The second-time MCA while on a tour of the ward pledged to work with the county government so as to ensure the local farmers get Artificial Insemination (AI) services at a lower price compared to what is offered in the private sectors.
"Met with dairy farmers who are devoted to seeing their animals give more than they have done before. I will work close to the agricultural County Executive to ensure that these farmers get (AI) services at a cheaper price than those offered by private sectors," posted Bundotich on his official Facebook page on Tuesday.
Dairy farming is one of the key economic activities in the area and farmers have been working to improve milk production so as to boost milk processing industries in the county like the governments Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC).
With access to cheap AI services, farmers will be able to benefit from this kind of farming due to the increase of market countrywide and the government is a major customer for primary school kids milk processing.
