Bomariba ward MCA Protus Moindi has promised to ensure that Matongo – Igonga road is repaired to ease transportation in the area.
This comes hot on the heels after residents of Boroko village on Tuesday evening went on rampage due to the poor condition of the road.
"I ask locals to be patient as we repair the road so that locals and motorists using the roads can easily reach their destinations," he said.
Mr Moindi said that he will ensure that he improves the drainage system of the road.
he pleaded with locals to ensure that they remove the bananas that were erected on the roads in order to give room to the contractor to start repairing the road.
However, the residents have maintained that they will not remove the banana trees because the MCA was ignorant since he won the seat.
“We have agreed that no one will remove the bananas we planted until the repair works start. Mr Moindi should stop playing cards with us and work because we elected him to perform to ensure we have access to good road networks,” she said.
