A Kiambu MCA has vowed to take to the county assembly a motion to ensure that 60% of revenues collected in each ward should be used to develop the same ward.

Kamenu Ward MCA, Mary Hussein, has said this is to ensure equality in development. She says that residents in her ward have not experienced any development from the county government despite being the second in revenue collections after Witeithie Ward.

She added that the motive is to ensure that no area is left behind in development. She says that in the past two years, the Kiambu County government has not initiated a single project in her ward.

“My people are giving out a lot in the revenue collection yet there is nothing to be proud of from the government. This area is in a wanting state; from the roads to the dumping sites which are undesignated,” Hussein said.

She was speaking in Makongeni on Tuesday when she attended a fundraiser for one of the disabled children in the area where she vowed to ensure that every child in the area gets quality education.
