The vocal Budalang’i MP has not be seen relatively active in many activities organised by the party and his coalition, with the latest being Madaraka Day celebrations at Uhuru Park on Monday.

And now Peter Maroro who represents Manga ward wants the MP to come out clear and declare his political stand.

“With all due respect, I am very much concerned with the continued absence on my party SG in major party activities. I understand we work from a coalition but he has been quiet of late. I want him to come out and defend his loyalty,” said the Nyamira County Assembly Chief Whip (Majority).

“He is a vibrant young man whom we don’t expect to go silent when the opposition is fighting on many issues affecting the country. I have seen Eseli Simiyu (Ford Kenya) and Hassan Omar (Wiper) being actively engaged in their parties and the coalition at large. So I really want to know the political stand of our GS,” Maroro said during an interaction with this reporter on Thursday.

However, Namwamba has been defended by his close ally and Kisii Assembly Majority Whip Henry Morara who said his roles are reduced under the coalition than the party.

“Ababu has always been focused on his roles as the ODM secretary general and there is no doubt about that. His roles in the larger Cord coalition are reduced and that is why we see those with senior positions in the coalition on the fore front,” Morara said.
