An MCA in Mombasa stunned residents when he visited a church and repented after losing Sh300,000 to a witchdoctor.
Two religious leaders led prayers on Sunday where the member of the Mombasa County Assembly got saved as he prepares to defend his seat on August 8.According to Baraka Church faithful, the man pleaded to clerics in the church to pray for him to get saved since he had for a long time associated with witchdoctors in the Coastal town in the course of his political maneuvers.The MCA is said to have confessed that he won the 2013 election after sourcing charms from a local witch which he used to “disorganise” his opponents.“He came to church and told us he wanted to repent and get saved,” Pastor Kizito Tamre of Baraka Church said on Sunday after praying for the man whose identity has been concealed.“He had visited a witchdoctor seeking for help because he is defending his seat. The witchdoctor told him to take a chicken’s left leg, and a goat’s left ear and leg. He paid Sh300,000 and left. Unfortunately when he went back with the items he was told the witchdoctor had died and had been buried.”“We have prayed for him. He has repented and he is now saved.”The MCA is said to be facing stiff competition from a new contestant in his ward.Pastor Tamre urged politicians to desist from sourcing powers from witchdoctors to win elections.He said prayer is the best weapon to overcome life challenges.Pastor Francis Mdaki of the African Prophetic Church called on politicians to preach peace as the country prepares for elections.He said witchcraft is not the answer to problems facing humanity. Mdaki told politicians to turn to God and seek spiritual nourishment.
