Limuru Central MCA Joseph Muragumi has asked police to investigate and take action against Governor William Kabogo’s security aides who allegedly assaulted him over the weekend.
The MCA, who has since recorded statements at the Tigoni police station, claimed that he was assaulted by Kabogo’s bodyguards at a wedding reception on Saturday night.
The MCA alleged that he was assaulted during a wedding reception at Sovereign Suites along Limuru road.
In a statement, Muragumi alleged that Kabogo’s guards tried to drag him outside the hall, drew their guns and threatened to kill him.
“I was dancing with my wife in [the] presence of other guests when bodyguards, who I know pushed us,” he said, adding that his wife fell down as the aides dragged him outside.
The MCA said that his friends rescued him before he called for security to escort him home.
Ngewa MCA Karungo Thangawa, who had accompanied Muragumi at the police station, condemned the incident.
Thangawa urged the national government to investigate the matter and take action against the bodyguards.
He stated that they will not be silenced and promised to continue questioning the misdeeds being allegedly committed by the county government.
He said that no one has authority to intimidate or assault leaders or residents.
