Few days after meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi, Kiogoro MCA Samuel Apoko has revealed what the President told him during an exclusive interaction with him.
Mr Apoko has a pending case in Kisii Law courts over undermining a senior state officer after he allegedly claimed that Kenyatta is a marijuana addict.
On Thursday, Kenyatta held a closed door meeting with a host of MCAs selected from both Kisii and Nyamira Counties to discuss about development ahead of his planned tour to the region this week.
And on Saturday, Apoko hailed the president for being a ‘kind and objective’ leader contrary to what he perceived him previously.
“I am happy that I met the President for the first time. I was a bit nervous because I am facing a few issues regarding what I allegedly said about him sometimes back which was prompted by apprehension,” he said.
“He is a calm and kind man contrary to what I thought of him. He told me to focus on working for the people instead of engaging in unnecessary attacks towards other leaders and I am happy that he forgave me,” he added.
Apoko added that the President promised to visit his ward during his four days tour to the region scheduled from August 9 2016.
“Above all, he promised to come to my ward and I am happy that he will launch a few projects in my area. I am happy to have met him because he sees politics as something that should not create enmity,” he said.
