An elected Nyamira County MCA has said that the county should consider giving more funds to wards to fund projects at the grassroots level.
Ekerenyo MCA in Nyamira County Thaddeus Momanyi said Nyamira is underdeveloped because the MCAs have not been given enough funds to launch projects to improve the living standards of the people.
“Governor John Nyagarama should stop being interested in initiating and launching mega projects in the county forgetting that there are projects deep at the grassroots which should be funded.
"We need funds to all the wards so that we can launch the various village projects to uplift the lives of the people at the grassroots level,” he said.
The ward representative promised Ekerenyo ward residents that there will be accelerated development in the ward in the next five years he will be in office.
“I am committed to ensure the lives of people in Ekerenyo get the necessary help to start small businesses, children be enrolled in schools, security be tight and all roads be upgraded to ease transportation. All I need is cooperation from the residents and my political opponents,” he added.
