Biashara Ward Member of the Nakuru County Assembly Steven Kuria has urged his supporters and other residents to embrace public participation forums in the assembly, in order for them to monitor his performance and that of his colleagues in serving the public.
The MCA said this on Tuesday at a Nakuru hotel, when he addressed a Public Service Forum Workshop that was organized by the Federation of Nakuru County NGOs.
The Ward representative urged voters to desist from unfounded media reports and propaganda by local political aspirants over the conduct of MCAs, but rather embrace public participation forum in the County Assembly to monitor the conducts and performances of their representatives.
“Voters should not just believe everything being reported in the media and lies being thrown around by political aspirants getting ready for the next general elections. I urge them to participate in the assembly procedures and debates so that they can monitor events and make informed decisions,” said the MCA.
According to Kuria, most county members were actively serving the public in drafting bills and seating in committees and debates so as to influence development agenda, but were being subjected to witch-hunting but their rivals using the media.
