Nairobi Members of County Assembly allied to the opposition Cord on Thursday roughed up Viwandani MCA Samuel Nyangwara as he tabled a motion to impeach Governor Evans Kidero.
Trouble began when Mr Nyangwara started reading notice of the motion only for the MCAs to move in and start shoving him, something that made the sergeant-at-arms to remove him from the chambers.
The Cord MCAs said that by impeaching the governor, Nyangwara was betraying the Cord coalition under whose umbrella he entered the assembly.
Nyangwara however said that even after the MCAs had assaulted him, he would still table the impeachment motion next Tuesday.
“They beat me and stole my phone and Sh5,000,” he said.
