Lakeview MCA Samuel Wanyoike Wanango has defended the war in the county assembly yesterday, citing that it had helped members to respect each other.
In an interview in Nakuru town, Wanyoike cited that majority of the members held grudges against each other but could not express themselves.
“It was necessary they clear the beef they had with each other. We had a very peaceful morning session and the afternoon went on well. Many of the MCAs have stopped taking people for granted or intimidating each other,” he added
Wanango claimed that the differences had made it very hard for them to debate well in the assembly.
“Everyone held grudges and since last week people have been shouting at each other. Yesterday it got physical. I tried separating the warring parties and preaching peace to them. However, this does not mean that we are not a serious house,” he added
Wanango appealed to all MCAs to sort out their differences.
“We have very serious bills that are supposed to be discussed and passed. However, the issue of the Majority leader is important and we hope to solve it soon before we continue with our debates,” he added
He also cited that they were willing to work with anyone who sought for the development of the county
