Speaking on during a prayer rally held in Kitangani Market, Masinga sub-county on Saturday, Mwonga urged the Ministry of Internal Security to work together with counties leadership since they are more familiar with their respective areas than the National government.

“County governments should be working together with the national government when it comes to security matters to maintain peace and improve security in the country. County governments can easily get updated on suspicious activity or persons in their areas,” said MCA Mwonga.

Mwonga who is also the majority leader in Machakos County condemned the Garissa University attack by Al-Shabaab militia group stating that it is beastly act to kill innocent youth.

He however stated that the first move of fighting against this terror is withdrawal of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) from Somalia as a tactical step since, according to him, the presence of KDF Soldiers in Somalia is costing lives of innocent Kenyans.

The MCA expressed his condolences to the families and close friends of those who lost their lives during the attack.

“The government should withdraw KDF soldiers from Somalia since it is the sole reason of the series of attacks we witness in most parts of Kenya,” claimed Mwonga.
