Muthwani MCA George King’ori has broken the silence after an assistant chief shouted him down at a public meeting.
King’ori who remained silent after the drunk and disorderly assistant chief on Thursday attempted to disrupt his meeting said he needs forgiveness.
Speaking to this writer on the phone on Saturday, he said for the sake of the assistant chief’s family among other dependants, he needs to retire to allow the family enjoys his retirement benefits.
Ngelani assistant chief John Matheka was ejected from the meeting after he shouted the MCA who was responding to the residents’ concerns. The meeting had been convened by King’ori outside the assistant chief’s office in Ngelani shopping centre to get the locals’ grievances and development concerns.
The residents who frog matched the assistant chief from the meeting had called for his immediate resignation. King’ori said sacking the aged administrator was not human. He said the chief should be pardoned until his term of service ends. The county legislature recommended Matheka be taken to rehabilitation centre once he retires. King’ori said it was dangerous to sack and let him helpless to deal with by community members.
Some women said the assistant chief was a disgrace to the Ngelani community adding that he was a bad example to the youth, some of whom had become drug addicts.
