At least eight primary schools from Gesima ward in Kitutu Masaba constituency will no longer incur huge costs in typing and printing of exams, a youthful MCA aspirant has said.
Speaking at Nyabuya Primary school on Sunday during a prize giving ceremony, Mr. Seth Omao who is also a lecturer at Mt. Kenya University, Kigali campus confirmed the donation of a printer and photocopying machines worthy 400,000Kshs.
He asked school heads from the institutions which benefited from the program to drastically reduce examination fees that is paid by parents for internal tests.
“I have already given a printer and a photocopying machine which will serve eight schools from Gesima zone. This is essential since management from our institutions have been asking for examination fee,” he said.
“Now that they will no longer go to the printing press, it is important for them to reduce examination fee charged per student. I plead with you teachers to always ask for ink incase whatever I have donated is not enough,” added Mr. Omao.
He challenged politicians to shift from mere rhetoric and instead venture into politics which would help transform the region by initiating projects that will help the region progress both economically and political wise.
“Time has come for us to ensure that we are participating in transformative politics. Politicians should desist from engaging in detrimental politics of rhetoric because has no room under the new dispensation,” headed.
Nyabuya, Risa, Mosobeti, Riamoni, Ritibo Riakworo, Nyakongo and Omoyo primary schools are among the beneficiaries.
