Speaking on Wednesday at Kihoto trading centre, Lakeview Ward during a security meeting with the residents, Wanyoike said that the bill would address the insecurity in the country.

“The bill will help greatly in the fight against the infiltration of Al-Shaab insurgents in our country and bring lasting peace,” said Wanyoike.

He urged MPs to pass the bill to allow citizens enjoy peace and stability, adding that the country cannot experience any progress with the current rampant insecurity.

“For rapid economic progress, we need peace and stability, we need to have every Kenyan feeling secure as they go about doing their business,” said Wanyoike.

“The main stream media is considered as a partner in the fight against the terrorism and the allegations on infringement on its dignity does not arise,” added Wanyoike.

The ward leader urged the residents to support the bill to supplement the government's effort in the fight against terrorism. He further cautioned opposition leaders not to drag politics in the Proposed bill.

“We want the opposition to put aside politics and involve them with the security of the nation,” said Wanyoike.
