Kitutu Central ward MCA Hon Duke Nyarango has threatened to blacklist lazy contractors doing sub-standard jobs on roads.
Nyarango speaking on Friday when he was inspecting the ongoing construction of Nyamataro-Nyakobaria road constructions in the ward, said contractors who fails to complete work in time will not be allowed to apply for tenders in the future.
"Contractors should speed up to complete projects once allocated to them and do a good job failure to which they will be blacklisted from county government contracts," he said.
Nyarango also called on youths to apply for more tenders to improve their lifestyles.
"Youths should stop idling in the villages.I am urging them to form groups and apply for tenders such as road construction and water springs in the ward to boost their living standards," he stated.
Nyarango at the same time lauded Kisii County government for its efforts to improve roads in Kitutu Central ward which will help spur growth and attract investors in the area.
He added that the fruits of devolution are being tasted and felt at the grassroots level.
