Ekerenyo ward MCA Thaddeus Nyabaro has threatened to sue the county assembly of Nyamira for suspending him from the House.
According to the deputy speaker Andrew Magangi, Nyabaro will miss four consecutive sessions for opposing an education report that was presented to the assembly.
He said the report stated that the county government of Nyamira had bought equipment which should be distributed to the polytechnics to help in learning, but the MCA opposed it saying it contained false information.
But speaking to journalists in Nyamira town, Nyabaro maintained that the report contained false information and threatened to move to court to seek legal redress over the ban.
He said he was elected to champion for residents' rights and will continue fighting for transparency and accountability in the county.
“According to my understanding, the money is set aside for buying equipment for the polytechnics but it instead goes into peoples’ pockets that is why I opposed the report,” said Nyabaro.
“I am going to sue the assembly because I want to know why they made the decision when in essence I was defending and fighting for transparency,” he added.
