Kikuyu Ward MCA Binary Wainaina has revealed that plans are underway to roof an overpass footbridge as soon as the sheets materials are offloaded from the port of Mombasa.

The footbridge in Kikuyu Ward has been flooding during rainy seasons and residents had earlier raised concerns to him to roof it. 

Wainaina said materials have been imported from china and at the moment they are at Mombasa port.

The roofing is expected to kick off immediately thus calling on residents to be calm. 

Speaking on Thursday at Kikuyu Wainaina expressed his concerns with the flooding of the bridge and appealed to residents to be calm.

He further revealed that it will not only be roofing but he will ensure that lights are placed at the bridge and the other footbridge at St Teresa Hospital. 

He has called on hawkers to shun away from the bridge since they are blocking its purpose urging them to trade down stairs or else they will be forced out.

Wainaina further urged Kikuyu town residents not to litter the town since that is tarnishing the good reputation, of cleanliness, the town holds.
