Nakuru county nominated MCA Rosemary Okemwa is in the process of preparing a bill that if adopted by the county assembly will see all street families in Nakuru rehabilitated.
Speaking when she led different leaders in donating clothes and food to street families in Nakuru over the weekend, Okemwa said the bill is still in its initial stages and will be brought to the floor of the house after all stakeholders have submitted their proposals.
She said her move is prompted by the suffering street families undergo especially during cold and rainy seasons.
"As a mother it pains me to see these families going through what they are going through and we must come together as a society and see how we can help them," said Okemwa.
"They really suffer during cold seasons and I am working on a bill that will seek to put up policies of rehabilitating these families and putting them in a safe environment so that they can be part of the society,"she said.
Okemwa proposed the construction of a hostel where all street families can be housed especially at night.
