Limuru Central Ward residents have asked their representative Joseph Murugami to repair his relationship with Governor William Kabogo and stop the constant infighting.
The residents fear the stalemate between the two leaders will cause slow development in the area.
This came into sharp focus after the governor allegedly cancelled a public meeting in the said ward, where he was to receive the Limuru Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) market from the national government and issue the county bursaries.
“The county assembly representative does not have to agree word for word with the governor’s actions but foster a good work relationship that ensures development in the ward,” said Antony Waweru.
Waweru said that even in a company, a department that does not know how to lobby resources or work with other departments does not perform, and that was the fears the people had over the sore relationship their leader had with the governor.
Murugami has also recently openly opposed the governor’s push for the purchase of 72 cars for the ward administrators that were recently employed.
He said the purchase was a waste of money, while there were other urgent and basic needs the people of Kiambu were in need of like water, education bursaries and garbage collection among others.
Murugami is remembered for having a motion in the house to impeach the governor, which did not succeed.
