Flamingo MCA Moses Gichangi has said that most of his colleagues in the county assembly seem to have forgotten the important responsibility of representing their people.

Speaking Wednesday afternoon during a cleanup exercise in his ward, Gichangi claimed that MCAs have resorted to attending to their personal businesses instead of serving the people who elected them.

He said that the ongoing tussle between the county government and hawkers would have been resolved amicably from the start only if the MCAs had put the interests of hawkers at heart.

“I am saying this because I know what happens in the house, most of my colleagues are busy chasing their own businesses and they take very little time to attend to the people. We can avoid so many problems like the hawkers problem in this county if only we can do what we were elected to do as MCAs,” he said.

“I want to appeal to my colleagues to come back to their senses so that we can address the problems facing the people in Nakuru. We need to come up with good legislation to better the lives of Nakuru residents,” said Gichangi.

Gichangi led residents in cleaning the environment and unblocking blocked drainage systems across the ward.
