A nominated MCA in Nyamira Naomi Nyaechero has urged the county Health department to set aside more funds for advocacy on matters cancer.
In an interview on Tuesday, Naomi said the funds will help enhance screening at local levels.
"This is specifically meant to ensure that there is money for advocacy that will help in enhancing screening at the dispensary and the sub-county levels so that people are able to know their cancer statuses and take steps before it reaches critical stages," said Nyaechero.
She further said the Nyamira county assembly is in the process of legislating a bill that will ensure that the process of advocacy is well guided.
" At the assembly level we are trying to come up with a piece of legislation which will ensure that the processes of advocacy is guided and people are sensitised about cancer," added Nyaechero.
