Addressing the groups, the area Member of County Assembly, Michae Mutua, said the groups he termed vulnerable had not taken advantage of their constitutional right.

"It is your constitutional right to apply for the tenders as women, youth and people living with disabilities to improve your living standards," said Mutua.

Mutua disclosed that most of the youth, women and disabilities from the ward had not made any attempts to apply for such tenders though they were jobless and had no sources of livelihoods.

He said such individuals were living deplorable lives hence struggled to survive and make ends meet as majority resorted to begging.

The MCA urged the vulnerable groups to come up as either individuals or groups and register businesses which would enable them win tenders or contracts just like other members of the ward.

Mutua said that the constitution demands that 10 percent of the tenders in a county be secured for the youth, women and people living with disabilities across the nation.
