An MCA has called on the members of Parliament to pass the two thirds gender bill on Thursday, when it will be tabled on the floor of the National Assembly.
Nominated MCA Margaret Wanjiku Kiiru has termed any failure to pass the bill, as a big blow to the implementation of the Constitution.
Wanjiku said; “The constitution stipulates that the same be effected in a period of three years”.
“If they fail to pass the bill on Thursday, then they have no need being in that House” she said.
She said the bill does not favour either gender, but only creates an opportunity for balance in various positions.
Speaking to this writer on the phone, Wanjiku also called on women MPs to continue lobbying as much as they can, to ensure the bill becomes law.
