Speaking in the ward on Sunday, Ongubo said most of the county employees are old people who should retire and give room for youths to serve residents.

“We have old people still serving in the county government some were absorbed from the national government after devolution government came in. Ongwae should send such workers on retirement for youths who are qualified to get the opportunities to serve in the government,” he said.

The MCA accused the government of allowing old people to serve beyond their retirement age.

“The government allowed people to change their birth dates so that they can extend their years in office. This is unacceptable because we have many youths who are graduates who need jobs to help serve our people well,” he added.

Ongubo said he will push for scrutiny of the county employees to know those who have attained retirement age so that they can be sent packing to give room for more youths to be employed in the county.
