Limuru Central Member of County Assembly (MCA) Njenga Mugami has asked residents to be vigilant and reports acts of crime.

Addressing residents at Limuru town on Saturday, Mugami said that recent security threats in some parts of the country calls for vigilance among the people.

He said that security of Kenyans is important and must be provided at all times adding that the government has a duty to protect the people.

The MCA said that he has held several meetings with security personnel in the ward and they agreed on each other’s role.

“Limuru people should be vigilant and support the police as they strive to maintain peace and order,” said Mugami.

Mugami indicated that that insecurity is a threat to development and those mandated to provide security must work extra hard.

He said that locals must develop good relations with the police so as to completely eradicate crime in the ward.

Muagami asked the county government to ensure that locals are safe during this festive season observing that criminals take advantage of the holiday to take part in crime.

The Ward Representative called for intensified patrols in the villages and estates to weed out criminal elements.

The MCA said that he is working with the county to make sure locals have access to services like supply of clean water, electricity and proper infrastructural development.
