Mariashoni Member of County Assembly (MCA) Agnes Jerotich, has urged Nakuru residents, political and religious leaders to spearhead peace campaigns in the county.
She acknowledged the efforts made by the county government in maintaining peace in the area, saying this will help the county grow economically.
“Residents should live in peace to enable them propel economic growth, peace is the backbone for any development in any given area” said Jerotich.
Addressing residents on Monday at Molo trading centre, Molo Constituency Nakuru County, during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, Jerotich said that leaders should be in the frontline in preaching peace across the country.
She further said that peace was a paramount issue in the growth of the county, adding that internal conflicts have in the past led to loss of life and property, sending fears among people across different areas.
Jerotich said that the county government has created enabling environment for trade and investments to spur economic performance, saying there is more focus on the construction and expansion of roads, improvement of healthcare, agriculture and education sectors.
