The MCA for Githurai 45 is urging the county government of Kiambu to ensure that it installs floodlights in the area so as to ensure that security for the residents is enhanced. Paul Chege, who was touring his ward yesterday, addressed the pressing need for floodlights that would provide the residents and the traders alike confidence to conduct their daily lives and without the fear of being robbed. "My ward is very populated and and vibrant and we are urging the county government to ensure it gives us the floodlights which will in turn give us security for all the people living and also working here." Chege advanced that he had written a number of letters to the Governor requesting him to assist his ward in getting lights but, no response was obtained. "I am now urging him to give us the street lights, failure to that we shall go to the streets and demonstrate so that he can hear our cry. Most of the wards in this county have floodlights and we are the only ones who have been left behind."These are the words in which Chege spoke on the matter. As Chege further put it, given insecurity many traders are forced to close their businesses very early.
