Speaking on Sunday after attending a church service at Nakuru's PCEA Dr Arthur Parish, Okemwa said she cannot understand  why the members of Parliament failed to pass the bill.

She added that gender Bill does not mean that only the women will be favoured but it refers to both gender.

"I really don't understand why the gender Bill didn't go through and it was very unfortunate. Men should know that what a man can do women can do better,"she added.

The nominated MCA called on women in the country not to give up but ensure they press on.

She is optimistic that the Bill at long last shall come to pass through.

"I know it may take time for the Bill to pass but that will not discourage women of this nation,"she added.

Okemwa at the same time called on Nakuru residents to cooperate with their elected leaders to foster development.

The MCA has shown interest in vying for the Biashara Ward seat in the forthcoming General Election.
