Nyansiongo Ward representative Jackson Mogusu has called on Nyamira County leaders to come together and find a way to boost the operations of Borabu District Hospital.
Mogusu called on the leaders to help in equipping the health facility with various machines, which can help in the treatment of the locals.
“Our hospital here, Borabu, is in a very bad shape and I want to ask the leaders of this county to come together because we want to get back our hospital to a working state,” he said.
Mogusu said that lack of the machines has forced the area residents to seek medical attention from other places that are far.
Speaking in Nyansiongo, the MCA said that they bought an ambulance that is now like a matatu, as it only transfers patients to other hospitals that they have been referred to for treatment.
Mogusu said that the residents are tired of going for treatment to other places that are far, adding that it is costly to them.
“We bought an ambulance for the people, which is now used to transfer patients to other hospitals since our hospital is like a referral center,” said Mogusu.
