Speaking on Thursday at his Bomariba ward during a fundraising, Protus Moindi said the government should prioritize secondary schools before fulfilling their ambitious pre-election pledge to the people of Kenya.

He said it was lack of focus for the government to give class one pupil’s first priority, yet many senior students in various secondary schools have never used computers.

“I am not opposing the ambitious government project of having our children get laptops but it is essential to note that the government should have first considered constructing computer laboratories for our students in secondary schools,” he said.

“I am sure that many secondary schools in the country do not own computer labs. It is prudent that the government starts with the senior students first and ensure all teachers get essential computer training,” he added.

However, Moindi supported the rural electrification project that has seen many schools from the region benefit from power that has been a problem in the previous governments.

“The rate at which our schools are being lit through the Rural Electrification programme is amazing. I really want to thank the government for the project. Our students can today come to classes early in the morning for preps unlike in the past,” he said.
