Menengai Ward MCA Michael Macharia wants Nakuru County government to expand Menengai Health Centre since it serves a large population of Nakuru East residents.
Speaking on Friday during a community development survey tour, the MCA observed that Menengai Health Centre, located near the border of Nakuru-East and Bahati Constituencies serves a bigger number of patients, hence should be expanded to meet the demands.
He also challenged the Constituency Development Fund committees from the two constituencies to consider collaborating to expand the health facility because it benefits residents from both areas.
“The county government should allocate funds to expand this facility because it caters for many residents in this section of the county where there is scarcity of government health facilities,’’ said Macharia.
The MCA noted that the Health Centre has since benefited from the Ward Development Fund and therefore, according to the MCA, it may be hard to convince the Committee again to allocate more funds to expand the health facility.
