Hospital Ward MCA JB Mwangi has called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct extensive voter awareness campaign to enable Kenyans understand the voting process.
The MCA who was speaking on Wednesday said that Kenyans have a right to be educated on the electoral process especially the young who do not have experience when it comes to voting.
“The IEBC should start sensitizing and educating Kenyans on the electoral processes as we approach the 2017 elections,” he said.
The representative further challenged the electoral body to ensure all Kenyans eligible to vote are registered early because the move will encourage many to exercise their democratic right of voting.
Mwangi who was addressing youth in Thika town said that those without identification cards should acquire them immediately in order to participate in elections.
He further asked politicians to preach unity and cohesion among Kenyans.
