The MCA said that the officers shot and killed a middle aged man who they accuse of being a drug peddler. The killing saw angry resident’s stage demonstration on Thursday demanding the arrest of the said officers.

The officers allegedly raided the suspect house and shot him at close range killing him on the spot. The enraged residents blocked sections of Gilgil road and lit bonfires causing traffic snarl ups on the busy road.

“We want the National Police Service to quickly interdict the two AP officers involved in the killing,” said Ndung’u.

Ndung’u accused the officers of misusing the firearms saying that the suspect did not pose any danger and that they should have instead arrested him. The MCA said that he will push the matter until the two officers are arrested and charged in court. He decried rising cases where police officers are misusing firearms and executing innocent Kenyans.

The deceased mother told journalists that her son had complained about his security and fears of being killed. She said that her son was not a drug trafficker accusing the police of innocently executing her son.

“She told me that he was afraid of being killed and even asked me to start digging his grave,” said the emotional mother.

Police had difficult time collecting the body of the deceased as angry villagers blocked them causing a scuffle that lasted for hours. The body was later collected and taken to the Gilgil mortuary.
