Speaking at Naivasha town on Friday, the MCA said raised concerns over the state of security in Northern Kenyan.

The MCA said that the government must pull up its socks and guarantee security of all Kenyans.

“The national government must wake up to the call and address the state of insecurity in Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Marsabit and some parts of Coastal Kenya.

The MCA said the areas are prone to terror attacks stating that appropriate measures must be taken to address the same.

He said that security is paramount and must be provided to all Kenyans at all times.

The MCA said the government is capable of curbing terrorism through proper legislations and policies.

He said that terrorism if not contained could result to economic instability among other severe consequences.

Wanango also asked the government to invest heavily in security and intelligence collection.

He further asked the government agencies mandated to collect intelligence to be more effective and help thwart terror threats.

The MCA condoled with the families and relatives of students who lost their lives in the Garissa terror attack last week.

He said that the students did not deserve to die in the hands of terrorists and asked the government to arrest all culprits that led the terror attack.

“Our prayers are with the families and relatives that lost their children in the Garissa University terror attack,” he added.
