Hell’s Gate Member of County Assembly Jonathan Warothe has challenged youths to be in the frontline and champion for development.
The MCA, while speaking at Naivasha town on Tuesday, said that youths have been empowered to take part in development.
He observed that young people have been equipped with skills, which they should use to push for reforms in terms of development.
“Our youths have been empowered and they should be in the frontline to push for reforms in the society,” said Warothe.
The MCA said that time has come for youths to speak against the evils being committed in society, especially those pertaining to leadership and governance.
He added that young people have a voice that should condemn corruption and other evils that derail development.
Warothe observed said that the availability of development funds for youths is a clear indication that they have a voice in matters governance.
He said lack of job opportunities is a critical problem that the government and stakeholders should immediately address.
Warothe said that the number of young people taking part in crime has risen due to unemployment.
