A warning has been sent to individuals secretly operating illegal dens suspected to be selling illicit brew to residents.
According to Kwa Rhonda MCA John Macharia, some people had devised clever means of ensuring that they remain in the illegal business.
He called on police at the area Chief Camp to carry out a serious crackdown to not only flash out the suspects but also ensure they face the full arm of the law.
“We will not give up on the fight against these illicit brews because all of us have an idea of the effects they have had on us over the years,” he said on Sunday after attending a church mass in the area.
Macharia noted that the operation will continue until when the authorities feel contented that the vice had been dealt with properly.
“We are not targeting anybody; this is an exercise being carried out across the country and this area is not an exception,” he said.
He called for public participation in ensuring that all dens are wiped out saying that at the end of it all, a safe and sober society will steer development and innovation.
The MCA further called on the law enforcers to intensify night patrols so as the residents becomes confident as they carry on with their day to day activities.
