A section of Kisumu MCAs allied to Governor Jack Ranguma have accused Senator Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o of using his position in the Senate to frustrate the governor.
This comes at a time when there is increased scrutiny in the way the county has been managing its resources.
The scrutiny is spearheaded by Prof Nyong’o who has declared interest in challenging Mr Ranguma in 2017.
The governor is expected to appear before the Senate Committee to respond to questions on how the county allegedly spent Sh3.5 million to recover Sh2.5 million allegedly mismanaged.
However, this has not gone well with the pro-Ranguma MCAs who say Nyong’o is using his influential position at the Senate to settle political scores.
“Nyong’o’s intention is to keep Ranguma fighting so that he does not deliver,” said the MCAs.
This comes at a time when the Kisumu County Assembly has been rendered fractious with various MCAs publicly pledging their support to various gubernatorial candidates thereby paralyzing house business.
