Thangawa claimed that wards were being used to fight MCAs a move he said will soon backfire.

He accused Governor William Kabogo of instructing ward administrators to undermine the roles of MCAs in the county.

“We will not allow the county government to frustrate our activities as MCAs,” said Karungo Wa Thangawa.

Karungo Wa Thangawa observed that MCAs are the main representatives of the people at the ward levels and therefore they deserved respect from ward administrators and the rest of the public adding that ward administrators should stick to their work.

The MCA reminded ward administrators that they are civil servants and therefore should not take part in political matters.

“It is a breach of the constitution for ward administrators to engage in politics while still holding their position as civil servants, Governor Kabogo should therefore stop using ward administrators to undermine our work,” said Karungo Wa Thangawa.

The MCAs concerns were supported by his Limuru Central counterpart Joseph Muragumi who said that they will not allow the county government to undermine them whatsoever.

Muragumi also alleged that Governor Kabogo is keen on frustrating their roles as county MCAs.

“We will not sit and watch as our roles are being threatened by our own governor,” said Muragumi.
